I have owned the original RCI2970 for 15 years and have never had any issues with it. It has been one of the best performers I’ve ever owned. Use it every day!

I HAD ONE AND SOLD IT BECAUSE I NEEDED THE MONEY. I AM SORRY I DID. NOW I AM IN THE WORKS TO BUY ANOTHER ONE. THIS TRANSCEIVER WORKS GREAT AND IS EASY TO OPERATE. I AM A LICENSE HAM RADIO OPERATOR. IT WORKS GREAT ON 1 METERS. HAVING 200 WATTS IS GREAT. FOR THE FIRST TIME I WAS ABLE TO MAKE A CONTACT WITH A STATION IN JAPAN. COOL. I ALSO LIKE TO TALK TO THE TRUCKERS AND IT WORKS GREAT ON 11 METERS ALSO. GREAT SIMPLE TRANSCEIVER WITH A PUNCH OF POWER. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE RANGER RCI 2970N2. 73, STU W8STU 595 OHIO.
