Maco Alpha V 5/8 Base Antenna

I got a hand me down from the 80s and it works like I champ. I have suggested to many locals and they also love this antenna. This is the best cheapest aluminum antenna in my opinion. With a roller tuner I can go anywhere from 10m-20m.

bought this antenna about a month ago. very easy to set up and install/tune. SWR is great.. I was also short a clamp, but used a hose clamp in its place. So far, so good....good receive and good radio check, both local and DX...good job Maco and Cooper!

I read all the reviews I could get on this antenna and thought I wood try one. I ordered one on 4-22-2020. Delivered 4-28-2020. Easy assembly, just flowed the instructions. Only took me about an hour to put it together. SWR out of the box 1.1.1 on channel 40, 1.3.1 on channel 1. No need for adjustment here. It replaces my IMAX 2000. I have been playing radio sense 1973, and by far this is the best ground plane I have ever owned. If I ever need another antenna, it will be another V5/8. Now for the down side. The box came short one clamp. I put a hose clamp on it. No problem. Great antenna. Well worth the price. Thank you MACO.

I purchased this since it reminded me of my first antenna in the 1970's, and because it is a 5/8th wave. It performs way better than the Antron and the price is perfect for us folk on a budget. I am from mount morris Michigan I have had just about all the ground plane since the late 70's this is one of the best antenna you can get it will do the job wind rain snow has not stop it good job maco thank you for all the years
