NOTE!
Back in September of 2004 I was talking with Ken from Anttron and he told me he had just developed 2  Antennas.
The ANTTRON 2-MB-PLUS BASE ANTENNA and the ANTTRON 2/6 GP BASE ANTENNA.
So naturally I said well send me 2 of each. 
Since Moderator136 and Rosebud was coming for a visit I gave him one of the ANTTRON 2/6 GP BASE ANTENNA's to take back home to Iowa to do a REVIEW on it for the Copper Forum Members.

REVIEW
Right out of the box I was impressed with the 1/4" Solid Aluminum Top Section.
Assembley was simple and straight forward and took less than 15 minutes with no problems.
The Impedance Adjuster Rod was pre-marked so I locked it down at the mark and installed the Antenna per instructions.
This gave me an SWR Reading of 1.1 to 1.3 across the band.
The overall performance was excellent from 143 thru 174MHZ.
I was able to open repeaters as far away as 100 miles in any direction with my Yaesu FT-2800 on High.
I was also able to open Repeaters from 30 to 40 miles away using my Yaesu FT-50R HT on 5 watts and gave us a range of 20 to 25 miles on Simplex.
COMMENTS,
For those of you who are new to the hobby and looking for a First Antenna or the older hams who are looking for a GREAT 2 Meter Antenna at a Very Low/Reasonable price with Excellent Performance the ANTTRON 2-MB-PLUS BASE ANTENNA will fill your needs.
I have been using this antenna now for over 7 months now and other hams are amazed at the Quality, Performance and Exceptional Low Price.
I would highly recommend this antenna to anyone. 
This is just another exceptional product from the ANTTRON ANTENNA COMPANY.
