Echo boards..which one ???
There are mainly three different types of ECHO options that copper has to offer to the CB radio operators . Internal Echo boards , External Echo boxes , and Hand Held Echo microphones . They are all similar in that they all produce the same Echo / Reverb sound . Echo works very well on a CB radio especially in shooting skip because it puts an edge on the audio and seems to have better punch in pile-ups when there is a lot of people on the same channel and you are trying to get through .In a brief discussion I will explain what the three types of echo options are .
The Internal Echo Board is one that must be installed into the radio . The power , audio wires and controls are mounted inside the radio and need to be carefully installed by a qualified person or one who has the VIDEO tapes that Copper offers . The great thing about internal echo board is that you never have to worry about the battery going dead and not having any audio until you stop at the store and replace it . The other thing that is nice to consider is that you do not need the balky microphone (in most cases) or have to worry about external power wires .
The External Echo Box is one that is great if you do not want to have to worry about finding a technician to install it . Just order the Echo box that fits your microphone connector and wiring . All that you have to do is unplug the microphone and hook the Echo box to the radio microphone connector and plug your microphone into the Echo box . Then you hook a power supply up to it and you are off and running .
Last is the fastest way to have Echo and that is to order one of the many Echo microphones . Some type Echo microphones you can buy are Echo , Echo with roger beep , Echo with up - down channel buttons (some radios this will not work on) , Echo - Noise toy microphones and a number of other ones . When you order your Echo microphone supply the information about the type of radio you own and when you receive it , just put a battery in it and plug it in.
