In the ANL position, the AUTOMATIC NOISE LIMITER also limits the noise at the receiver audio stages. #10 ~ Roger Beep Button (R.BEEP): This switch activates the Roger Beep circuit. #11 ~ Spilt Button (SPILT): Enables the offsetting of the transmitter frequency by up to +/- 2 MHz (Programable) for FM repeater operation. #12 ~ Program Button (PRG): Used to pre-program operating or scanning frequencies into memory. #13 ~ Manual Button (MAN): Used to return the unit to the manual mode. #14 ~ Shift Button (SHF): Determines which digit will change when changing frequencies, by placing a "cursor" under the desired digit. Allows frequency to be changed in 100Hz, 1KHz, 10KHz, 100KHz and 1MHz increments. #15 ~ Dim Button (DIM): This Button adjusts the display backlighting in four different steps to best match the ambient light. #16 ~ SWR Button (SWR): Used to check the SWR. #17 ~ Scan Button (SCAN): Used to enable the scanning of frequencies. #18 ~ Memory Button (MEM): Used to program often used frequencies. #19 ~ Enter Button (ENT): Used to enter frequencies in memory. #20 ~ Lock Button (LOCK): Disables the Frequency Selector Control, UP/DOWN buttons on the front control panel and remote UP/DOWN buttons on the microphone. Pressing this switch again will re-enable the frequency selectors. #21 ~ UP/DOWN Selector: These buttons are used to increase or decrease the frequency digit above the SHF cursor on the display. MICROPHONE WIRING Pin #1 ~ Audio Shield Pin #2 ~ Audio Lead Pin #3 ~ Transmit Control Pin #4 ~ Receive Control Pin #5 ~ Up Control Pin #6 ~ Down Control Base Station Application! A TRIPP-LITE Power Supply Model: PR25 Copper Part #T70-00024 is Recommended. PROS & CONS PROS Receive Scanning: The receive scanning feature helps locate active frequencies within a pre-programmed band segment anywhere on the 6 meter band. Spilt Function: This function enables you to spilt the transmit and receive frequencies by a pre-programed amount. This feature is necessory for operation with FM repeaters. Memory Function: The RCI 5054DX/5054DX-100 can store up to 10 frequencies in memory locations 0-9. Memory Channel Scanning: You can scan 10 pre-programmed memory locations. Metering: S/RF METER & SWR METER. Frequency Display: Large BLUE Easy to read 6 Digit LED Frequency Display. An Enhanced Receiver designed for increased sensitivity. A Double FET balanced mixer for excellent receiver intermodulation rejection. Power Supply Protection and temperature compensation for supurb stability and reliability over wide temperature ranges. Surface Mount Components for greater resistance to Shock and vibration. Refined Display Lighting for easy reading in a wide range of light conditions. CONS As I am completely New to the 6 Meter Band and have never operated on it before I honestly found NO CONS on this radio. Review and Comments I honestly think this was the most enjoyable Review I have ever done on a Product. As the Radio is new and the 6 Meter Band is also new to me it was Fun learning my way around the 6 meter band. For testing I used a 6 Meter Omni antenna as well as a flat side V (wire) antenna. The results were great and totally un-expected. All bands / modes were used for the review and the reports on clarity and power were exceptional. The SSB amazed me with the Exceptional Clarity on Receive and the Signal Reports I received back were always very good. I was lucky enough to have several Ham Club Members from our local Club come over and also use this Radio to get thier thoughts on performance and actual use. All of them were highly impressed with the Simplicity and Many Features that this radio has and the overall performance of this new RCI 5054DX-100 Radio. I was also very impressed with the wording / terminology used in the Owners Manual which will allow even a person new to Ham Radio to clearly understand the operation and all of the features and functions of this radio. I have been using this radio and testing all of the features over the last 40 days and have been 100% completely satisfied with the performance and all of the features / options that this New RCI 5054DX-100 has to offer. For those of you who are New to the Ham World or even those who have been hams for awhile this New RCI 5054DX-100 Radio will allow you to fully experience the Complete World of the 6 Meter Band and enjoy it completely.
