New to amps just came across a Pride 150 mobile and need to know whats a safe limit on input to the amp my radio is a little beefed up so I don't wan't to damage the amp with to much wattage going in. Also the switch that says RECVR ON-OFF should it be on when just listening and be turned off every time I transmit. Any help would be appriciated Thanks John

Hello Johnny

I think you have run across an oldie but if it works that is great. I personally run one of those 150 bilinear amps these little fellas like to be hit low 2.5-3 watts max and dont get to swing happy with it either 10-15 watt will be more than ample the ssb swith holds the tx relay in 20-30 millsec longer foer ssb operation and the recive switch is for the rec amp to help you pull in weaker signals. By the way when i said old I mean 20-30 or more years old. for these amps a smaller radio is a great choice for them 510 by uniden,1001z by midland work great for these amps but with a little retuning on youre radio this is a great little amp.
