Hi guys and gals. I have a Voyage VR 9000 radio on my bench that needs to become a beacon on the 10 meter band. I want to remove the CB add-on modification and make it a 10-meter only radio again before it leaves the bench. I have searched all the archives here and found nothing. I know this radio is similar to a Galaxy 88, and I have looked up all the 'modification' info on it. However, none of that info or the diagrams match this radio. Can someone help? Possibly with pictures? Thanks! |

Voyage VR9000 Frequency Expansion Expand your radio to get 25.565MHz - 28.305MHz Remove Top of Case ( Reveal Solder Side of Board ). Directly back from the Channel Selector you will see 4 or 5 small resistors (1/8 watt). These resistors jump across the PLL. They are very obviously shorting the PLL Section out. Remove these resistors. When you turn the radio back on, you will have coverage from 25.565 to 28.305. You lose some of your 10 meter coverage, but gain a LOT of lower frequencies. I believe Band C or D is the CB Band best i can help you with, paul. i don't know the values of these resistors, or if different versions of this radio exist with different mods even. |

1/8 watt 100 ohm resistors. I had 4 on the conversion I did. Good luck. Bill |

Thank you. HOWEVER... I am not simply removing some resisotrs, I need to ADD them! Therefore, I need to know WHERE to add them to 'un-modify' the radio. Any help? |

Thanks again. I had already looked there, but none of the pictures or descriptions matched this radio. Just for grins, went back and looked again this morning. The ONE picture I had not opened was the CX3300 New version. There it was! Thanks a lot! |
