I recently went and bought a new S9. While at this guys shop, we were talking about power mods and what have you. He mentioned replacing the stock final in a radio (we were talking about Galaxy radios) with what he called the 60 watt conversion. A MRF477 and a few other parts he said was all that was needed. He had a Galaxy 55 that he'd done this to. It responded very well and had good forward swing even from 40+ watts dead key. I ask what he charged to do such a modification and he said 75 bucks. Now I don't mind paying that, but I'd rather do it myself. Does anyone here have a parts list and a run down on how to do this? I hope Pat doesn't whip me for letting that G word come out of my mouth again... |

porkchop, you probably need to get an old blue {the new one does not have them as they are discontinued, and the brown one is probably too old} motorola rf databook and look for the dut (device under test) schematic and go from there. or, u might try using the mosquito schematic and hefting up a couple of parts. regards |
