can you get it to go higher an lower than the normal frreqs that it has? 26.5----30.19999?? |

Bulldog369, With the Modifications I have listed in the Modification List under Tools for the Emperor TS-5010 to the left of the forum here you will have Bands A,B,C,D,E,F,G and H which will give you coverage of 25.165 ~ 28.755 Hope this helps. Lon Tech808 |

hmmmm... right now i have 26.5000... to 30.999.. maybe this had the double conversion already on the higher end. |

Bulldog369, I bought this radio new in '95. It covers 26.500 to 31.999 as you mentioned. Some of the later versions dropped down to 26.000 with the same modification. I've seen some of these models before but have no idea what the serial numbers on these units were. As far as I know, there is no other mod for frequency expansion. Someone on this forum has some info on CHIPSWITCH, which may allow further expansion. I've seen many articles on CHIPSWITCH for the popular President Lincoln radios. This may be an option for the Emperor. The Emperor TS-5010 is a good radio indeed. The board is basically the same as the popular HR-2510. I won't get rid of mine! hope this helps stickshift |
