MOST PEOPLE I KNOW HOOK THE TOYS UP WITH A MOMENTARY PUSH BUTTON MOUNTED OUTSIDE THE RADIO AND WHEN EVER YOU PUSH THE BUTTON IT PLAYS THE SOUND AND DOES NOT WORK WITH ANY OTHER COMPONENT.THIS WAY IT IS INDEPENDANT FROM ANY THING ELSE |

You may not be able to hear it, but have you asked anyone if they can? Galaxy's factory installed talkback only works when the echo is on. That is the reason you can't hear it unless the echo is on. Ask somebody for an on air test to see if it works without the echo. CEO of DEADMAN INC. |

I have a galaxy 33 and the only time the talkback works is when I have echo on.That is the way it was made.I have a call to post in my 33 and when the echo is off I watch the meter and when it is done playing the needle quits moving.later Genocide 2 RF 357 Mike in West Virginia and yes we are a state lol |

There is a modification i have printed up here ,i'll look for it and post it when i find it so keep a watch out for it , but you can remove a resistor in a galaxy so the talk back will work all the time , even when echo is off,,this will not work though if the autio of the module is hooked to the echo board audio,Thx BamBam_138 |

It's a shame that cb radio has gone the way of the noise toy. It has no useful purpose other than to annoy and harass and cause hate and discontent. I remember when people actually had conversation on the radio. Ahhhh, the good old days. By the way, anyone know where I can get the Browning ping noise toy? |

It all depends on the operator. Most people in my town have them. They usually annoy you for a few days then get bored and practically forget about them after that. |

Actually..... Sec. 95.413 (CB Rule 13) What communications are prohibited? (subpart) (6) To transmit music, whistling, sound effects or any material to amuse or entertain; (7) To transmit any sound effect solely to attract attention; Sound effects suck. |

Gee, whan I was a little boy we would mount a super large fish hook under one of the screws on the back of a D104 lollipop head and bend it so the squeeze bar (chicken choker) would snag and slip by when you squeezed it to talk. This made a nice Golden Eagle "Ping" everytime and it didn't cost $20 or require fancy wiring. Kidneys...its all in the kidneys! (that means a cool idea) 73 Mr_RF |

Mr_Rf: Easy there now. Let's not give away too much ... We're only as young as we feel. Certian days not withstanding ........... FWIW, mine sounded more as a scratch than a ping. Maybe to much pressure riding across the bar, or not a fast enough release. If you are wanting to hear the talk back with out the echo on and I recall right for the 33, this has worked on all the other galaxy mobiles I've done, then go in and clip D80 and run a resistor to get the desired level of talk back you want if it's to loud after it's clipped! (Always clip the resistor where you can still have enough room on the wire in case you want to ever solder it back in place with out having to replace the resistor) |
