How do you put a talklback in a TS3010 ? I've tried the resistor to the center pin of the speaker jack and tried grounding the speaker to the chassis and the frame with no luck. |

Straycat, I'm not lucky enough to have any experience with an Emporer 3010, but I'll tell you what I know. First, the way I usually put a talkback in is to jump a resistor between the center pins of the PA and EXT. Speaker, you'll have to experiment with the resistor values to find the right volume of talkback you want. Second, if that doesn't work, check into a variable talkback kit. They sell them all over the net. Both of these mods are the simplest ways I know of, but I will do some more surfing and see what I come up with. Stay tuned. CEO of DEADMAN INC. |

Straycat:I saw a talkback kit in a truck stop today. It has a volume control and 1/8"speaker pins for plugging into your external and PA speaker jacks on the back of your radio. |

Vernonott I have two of those talkback kits and they work great with most of my radios. They don't work with all though and the TS3010 is one of them. I tried the PA to Speaker jack deal too but am baffled. |

Honky Tonk Man 593 my 3010 doesn't squeal and has super audio. I think the problems you're referring to have been taken care of by a previous owner but as an aside I'll check the mike jack grounding. That may be a contributing cause. The only problem my 3010 has is the real low motorboating sound when the channel is dead quiet but I just haven't gotten around to soldering the offending capacitor flush with the board. |
