Lon, I see that a new post was made on 8/27/2008 at 10:33 am but when I click into that thread I do not see a new post, just one from 2007. If it is the same mod as the other blue display with the 1969 then that is all I need to know |

Thank you sir, do you see where it shows a post was made on the above date I mentioned? That is why I got confused. Just got the radio from Copper today, wow talk about fast, I ordered 8/27 and it shows up 8/28! |

The modification of a 257 consists of just the relocation of a jumper. This mod also eliminates the repeater offsets required for 10 meter repeater operation. Is it safe to place a switch inline between the jumpers in order to switch the mod on and off enabling offsets when needed to talk on 10 meter repeaters? |

use jumper setting #2. it is BOTH the 10m & EXPANDED modes. when you turn the radio ON, it defaults to 10m & repeater/shift functions work as they should. press FUNC & hold CALL for 3 seconds & radio switches to expanded mode. to return to 10m, repeat steps. |
