I added a light to my paradynamics swr power meter becuase i plan to use it as a permanent meter between my radio and antenna.I found a old mini mag light took out the l.e.d and cut a piece of wire form a old power adapter ran it to the l.e.d and then i used the base of the mag lite for the power by running it to the aa batteries i then took a switch and installed it.I used electric tape becuase i dont have a soldering gun and covered the exposed wire and installed it in the meter nice and neat.My question is will it interfere with the signal running thru the meter?I dont wanna blow out my radio and also can i run it to my power supply instead of using batteries the thing is i dont know if there is a ground i just ran the wires kinda half assed but it works. |

I have used an LED and a resistor and wired it to 12V without any negative affect. I set swr with it in the meter and out to test and it was the same. Both the paradynamics and a Radio shack model. |

Ditto here. IN fact several of my radio have had the lights replaced with led, and currently I am buying 50 LED in standard bulb bases to replace the dash lights in the MGB. Why?? Because I have 4 lights out, they are a pain to replace and I don't plan on doing it more than once. Simon Tech237 KD7IEB
