I just got one abuot 2 months ago. Its a really really nice radio. It is heavy( 10lbs ithink) Im actually scared to mount up high in the truck becuase of the weight and the overhead being a plastic like material.
Anyways, i just got a astatic 575 yesterday for it and someone about 5 miles away said it sounded like i was sitting next to them. I do get a lot of people saying its very loud and turn it down a little. im getting about 200 watts out of it. CB band comes in on Channel E, most radios ive had were on D band. Im running 4 ga wire right to the battery for power n ground. OH, and the freq counter digits are starting to go blank. I need to find out about that issue. If u wanna push amplifiers i think 6 or 8 pill is the smallest u can run with that radio ( BUT IM NOT SURE)... Otherwise, im really happpy with the radio. I did see ranger is coming out with a real nice chrome radio to compete with this radio but the ranger does not have the ssb....
Ballwrecker..... im out

If you want a radio to do well on power and no frequency drift on SSB I suggest you purchase a RCI 2970N2 OR THE RCI 2970N4. Has everything you could ever want in a radio. Perfect for mobile or base use. Best quality made radio on the market.
