Is it possible to replace a 2SC1307 with a 2SC1969 or something else compatible?

Well, the 1307 is a 13 watt transistor, and the 1969 is a 16 watt unit.

Both are NPN, and I would guess you can swap them. If you do, be sure to check all your values, bias settings, and driver. There would need to be some minor adjustment for the new transistor.

Grab the spec sheets for both, and compare them. That will tell you a lot.

Tnx Rom, yes I can re adjust the bias not a problem.I know that the 1307 is getting hard to find. The final went in my old cobra 139 xlr and I have some spare 1969's hanging around.

no prob using the 1969 in that radio.

you'll have to rebias.
set driver at 30mA. and final at 70mA.

what caused the final to blow?
old age?
matt
anyone wanting a "clean signal", just look to the left and build one of these!!!
