First I recently made the mistake of buying a CB on an internet auction site and it doesn't work right. Ok, the radio has absolutely NO Modulation. (\__/) (='.'=)This is Bunny. Copy and paste Bunny into your (")_(")signature to help him gain world domination

The nice thing is on these radios most are cheap to repair and depending on what is needed easy to do it yourself. |

As the header implies it is a Galaxy DX 959 I used the stock mic, It keys and recieved but it has no modulation and Talkback isn't working which I assume is because it has no Modulation but I could be wrong. I have it connected to a Wilson 1000 Magnet mount on the front fender of my 1995 Jeep Wrangler (\__/) (='.'=)This is Bunny. is it the right mic for the radio? is it wired correctly? does it have a broken wire at the connector. if you key up & there is absolutely no movement of the meter with modulation, the mic would be the first place to look. i was afraid to reply with a proper response the 1st time i tried to post because the bunny scared me. please put him away when i am here. |

All seems well with the mic it is the right mic for it. I also tried my RK 56 and it does the same thing. Which is why I am thinking it is something internal. (\__/) (='.'=)This is Bunny. Copy and paste Bunny into your (")_(")signature to help him gain world domination

Daniel, Reading your post I will assume that the radio still recieves. If you can't hear yourself talking back I would suspect the audio power transformer. Does your PA work? If not then this is probably the case. Of course it can also be a simple solution or some other problem, don't really know for sure without inspecting the radio. Check the audio power transformer and good luck sir. Kenny cef491(27.115lsb) 2sf491(27.555usb) Indiana
