Are there now, or have there ever been mast mount preamps made specifically for CB? Do/did they allow TX too? Aack! - Bill the cat

Thanks Pat, they look great and aren't outrageous in price. I'm looking for products that were marketed specifically to CBers though. GaAs FET preamps have extremely low noise but are pricey. I was hoping there was a product that was $50 or less that was made to basically overcome the loss of a coax run. Aack! - Bill the cat

Bill Mast mount preamps are not cheep even the Mirage is over $100. The IDEA is to over come coax losses ( which are added to your receiver noise figure ) but at CB they are so small and the background natural noise SO HIGH nothing would be gained. EVEN on 2 meters I found no advantage with 85 foot on LMR-400 another problem is there are FEW mast mounts that will take high power.
