HI all. I notice that on all the other Magnum Radios there is an option for "Expand, Align, Tune" for $30. However, the S-980 does not have that option. Am I to assume that this particular model already comes "Expanded, Aligned, and Tuned"? Or, is it that hti s particular cannot be tuned to 11 meters? Thinking about buying it, but need to know first. Thanks. |

It means the web master forgot to add the option on the product page. I came across the same problem on another radio. It does need to be expanded, aligned and tuned for 27 MHz operation. Romstar |

OK. Next question (s). Without any mods, what is the frequency range? With the "Expanded, Aligned, and Tuned", what is the total frequency range/breakdown? What, in theory, does "Expanded, Aligned, and Tuned" mean? Thanks. |

Jameslarsen, Without the purchasing the Option the Frequency coverage is: CORRECTED Programming Mode: This feature allows the radio to be setup into 8 separate bands, each individually programmed to cover any 40 channel segments you choose between 25.165 - 30.555 MHz. For instance, if you wanted Bands A and B to be setup to cover 25.165 - 26.055 MHz, Band C to be the CB Band 26.965 - 27.405 MHz, then Bands D, E, and F to cover 10 Meters at 28.315 - 29.655 MHz, the “Programming Mode” can be used to set this up. With the OPTION: Expand, Align and Tune the Copper Tech will do the following: Here are the areas that we align.

Or you could move the jumper yourself Moderator Note! Very true since Tech808 already has the conversion listed in the Magnum S-9 Mobile Radio Review for everyone and all they have to do is read the REVIEW. Subscriber (Preview) » Product Reviews » Magnum S-9 Mobile Radio » Review |

I don't understand. Band C says C - 26.165 ~ 28.605 Why would the other bands be needed if Band C covers it all and then some? Moderator Note! Because it was a typo and has been corrected in the post above, also if you read the Review it is correct in the Review. |
