Hi everyone. I don't know, call me silly, but looking at the Red Devil microphone, I just have to have it because it is,,,well red. But I also want it if it is a good mic. now I know that can be a subjective thing. But can anyone tell me pros and cons of this mic? Have you ever used it? etc... Thanks. |

yes ive used thjem.ive owned 2of them over the years.from the way i ran my mike gain on radio and on mike. mike gain on radio set at wide open gain on reddevil just cracked open-halfway up with the gain on radio at wide open and mike completey off worked closely like the 636l and more ya turned up the gain on mike more it worked like a power mike however audio reports with locals said my regular power mics were louder.good mike if ya want noise cancelling capabilitys with a little bit more punch.but if ya want a true power mic ive found the d-104m6b has more punch then the red devil dale/a.k.a.hotrod cef426 cvc#64

I have been using Red Devil mikes for several years and I have been told many times how good they sound compared with mikes I have used. The only mike that they told me that is comparable is my older DM-452. I also use a 575-M6 on my 2950 and 2970 and everyone tells me it is the best sounding on these radios than my other mikes. And I would definately buy another red devil mike if I neede another one!!!! HARVE UNIT199 CEF210 CVC18 KB0YVK

Great microphones, I have two of them. One wired for my 5 pin 148-GTL, the other is on my Ranger Freedom One (4 pin)I get nothing but reports of outstanding audio.

ie used a road deil on both base and mobile. as far as loud punchy audio it wasnt the best just a tad more than a rk56.i got better reports with a d-104m6b.that was the base test.now out in the mobile a whole another story the d-104m6b was still louder but brought in alot more background noise as expected.so i put the road devil on and hafd it turned up half way up and just a tiny bit of background noise.this test was done on a cobra146gtl on base.talking to better half.then took same setup to mobile and talked to better half.shes my reliable source she doesnt like radio and hardly eer talks to me so she could care less so i fully trust and believe what she told me as a report dale/a.k.a.hotrod cef426 cvc#64

Hello all...I haven't been on for awhile, but thought I would offer an update to my use of the "Road Devil". I have had one on my Omega Force for over 1 1/2 years and no problems. I use it 6 to 7 days a week and have never even replaced the battery. I run the RD mic gain centered and vary the radio mic gain from 10 O'clock to 1 O'clock. It has gotten nothing but compliments from my co-workers, locals and yes the little bit of skip here in WY. Later! |

Mike cord is of poor quality and wires are too fine gauge. Wires going into connector can break easily if cord is pulled on very much. Otherwise the Road Devil performs well. Astatic needs to improve the quality of the cords. Just my opinion and experience. |
