ok i have a kenwood ts-140 works great on all bands except 75/80 meters no rx or power out put have any ideas what the problem might be |

Check the contacts. on the bandswitch - they may be dirty. Also look for a broken wire. They arte the first two things I'd check. Simon Tech237 KD7IEB

The TS140 is all PLL - there is no actual band switch. I don't have a service manual for a TS140, but I do have one for my TS450, and there are several PLL chips. If one were not functioning, then the bands it synthesizes would not work. This was a somewhat common problem for Kenwood TS440 transceivers which were of the same vintage as your TS140.
