RCI 2950 has feedback into speaker , sounds like a distorted talk back in speaker, you turn down mic audio it goes away but no audio<obvious>, you turn it up audio and it comes thru the speaker, am using stock mic also, any internal adjustments on this or solutions

thanks

Rev,
Check out the RCI website too, it has downloadable owners, alignment and service manuals for just about all Rangers as well as a schematic.

i know what this is. i just repaired someone elses rci 2950 yesterday with the same issue.
u need to reconnect or replace a diode d78
this is 1n914 type diode. cross ref. is an nte519 part # from NTE obviously. this will make the talkback go away. also im willing to bet they yanked your q32 triac which is the mod limiter and without that you cant adjust ssb power and you splatter bad on am. i dont know the part number on that as the gentleman elected not to repair that as he is sticking with the stock mic. at any rate reconect that diode leg or replace it and you will have no more talkback and can run wide open mic gain. *note* IF q32 is removed i wouldnt recommend using a power mic and if you insist on doing so keep it LOW or you can blow the audio integrated circuit since yanking that q32 removed anyway to regulate the audio input power other than mic gain. think of it as they removed a protection device so if you overload your audio input it will directly overload your audio ic. if this is wrong im sure lon or someone will correct me. :-)
