Could someone help with instructions to install(eptoss50c) in a cobra 29 ltd classic? I have wired audio from mic into j2(mic input) then j3(mic output) out to board. also tried with transmit into j2(ptt input) then j3 (ptt output) to board. power to j1 is 7.9vdc with ground to chassis. Thanks. |

you say you have the ground to the chassis. does this mean the metal chassis of the radio? if so, it will not work for your DC ground. the PC board ground is isolated from the chassis ground by all those little capacitors you see on the foil side of the PC board going to the metal of the radio. try a test with an ohmmeter; you will see. solder the ground wire to one of the silver tuning cans on the PC board, or look on the foil (green) side of the PC baord, find the large foil trace that runs all over the board (it will be larger than any other trace, and will be one continuous trace.) solder the wire to some point on this trace. want to be sure you get it right? solder it to where the transformer lugs are soldered to the board. they are easy to spot; they are big tabs bent over with solder on them. hope this was your problem, i dont know too mcuh about echo boxes, so i cant be too much help if thats not it. matt |
