16ga. is just fine until you get over about 15-20 feet. if the radio has been hot rodded and is doing 20-25 watts; then you should run 12ga. wire to the battery. you can find 12ga. three pin power cords that will fit the grant XL pretty cheap. matt |

I use 12ga speaker wire on my home theater stereo. USE at least 10ga wire on your mobile cb... Use 8 or 6 if you intend to use a linear in the future. |

Try adding a condesor from the Positive feed on the pump to ground. Also wind any spare power cable for the CB on a toroid core. Wind half the core clockwise and the other half counter-clockwise. Make sure than antenna is not too close to the pump and buy a couple of clip on ferrite cores. Install them on the outside of teh coax as close as possible to the antenna. Simon Tech237 KD7IEB

Yes! A condenser can be a big help! The way I have done it my self and for others is installing it on the radio. You bolt the condenser to the radio chassis and then splice the condenser wire into the radios positive power wire. Will be suprised how well it works for noise that gets in through the power wires! I just use a 12 volt condenser from the auto parts store. Kenny cef491(27.115lsb) 2sf491(27.555usb) Indiana
