My silver salute is acting up. When I key up I can hear myself in my external speaker as if I had talk-back on. I do not use talk-back but I went ahead and ck'd the switch anyway. It was off. I tried another mic and it is fine. So the Silver Salute is the culprit. I got this mic from Copper a few months ago and I do not know if it was doing it then or not. I just started noticing it in the last couple of weeks. WILDRAT MARK CEF674 CVC029

Wildrat, I just hooked our silver salute up to our S-3/S-6/S-45/S-3200B along with hooking it up to Corncobs/CEF#166's S-9 with mic gain on Silver Salute set at less than 1/4 open showing 100% non-distorted modulation on meter and scope. I cranked the Modulation up on the Silver Salute and no feedback through radio speaker or external speaker. You might try giving Sam a call at: 1-877-624-6869 as he may have an answer or suggestion to help solve your problem Hope this help's,

10-4! You mean this is another magnum product? The mic works perfectly except for it sounding like it has talkback. When I use the mic I barely have it cracked open. The guys around here like the sound of the mic also. I have the D104 hooked up also and I try to trick the guys by going back and forth, and they always know the Silver Salute because they say it's much louder than the D104. I have my magnifying glass out at the moment to see if any solder may have gotten where it should not be. Anyway I'll try to get in touch with Sam and will post any info I find out. I keep thinking about that mod for giving your radio talkback, but I can't remember how to do it, maybe tomorrow I'll remember. WILDRAT MARK CEF674 CVC029

Wildrat, No the Silver Salute is not a Magnum Product but you may have a problem with the radio causing this or the radio may be out of alignment causing this problem. And maybe Sam will have a suggestion on what is causing it or what may fix/solve your problem. With the Silver Salute being out almost 2 years now this is the first I have heard of this problem with anyone using the Silver Salute. I found something out today about the company that makes/distributes this mic.. They have no tech support. I called the number on their web site, and got hold of someone right away. The only problem is when I asked about tech support they gave me a number to a truck stop. So I guess I am going to be tech support. WILDRAT MARK CEF674 CVC029
