Got another one for you. I have seen mods for clarifier modification or as I call it "unlock". I know what it does and my Washington and Cobra 2000 are that way, works pretty slick. Do people work this mod on 10 meter radios with VFO'S too ? Don't know why it would be a problem, just seems like someone told me once not to do it to my 10meter bases. Am thinking of doing it to my 2990 and 2527. Thanks and everyone have a good weekend out there. |

there is really no reason to unlock the clarifier on radios such as you mention. the 'span' can adjust your freq to 100hz, the clarifier will tweak your receive to get the signal where you want it. if either your or the other radio is even just a hair off freq, an open clarifier can compound & confound efforts to tune each other in. a channelized ssb cb radio needs an open clarifier only if you intend to go between channels. |

OR IF the person you intend too talk too is eather a little left or right of center clarifier. The VFO moves both transmit and recieve. At the same time .the difference is if you are in manual mode(c.b.) it takes time to get to the fregu.to adjuts the VFO to the person you want to talk too.. |

So you didn't need a clarifier for VFO.operation You moved the VFO UP&DOWN with the buttons.. Now when on (C.B.)38 on lsb you have too move- to VFO MODE to change frequ. With the clarifier unkocked you don't have too move ,Just Clarifie Them in.. johhn |
