I am installing a "ping keyup" in my Washington. wired red to on/off switch, black to ground. Yellow audio wire says to "audio input" (would be pin 1?), green to transmit (would be pin 5 ?).Do these wire to the mic jack in the radio ? I did hear the ping when I keyed the mic (so I know it works), but when not keyed it was squeeling (like when I first turn the radio on). |

I would get a magnifying glass and ck for stray wires shorting on your mic wires you soldered, and find another place to get your power. I had a roger beep I installed on a Cobra 2010 base and it did not like the power at the power switch. I don't know why but it didn't, so I put the red wire at another 12vdc point and it was fine. I only have the one ping keyup a friend gave me. The ping module didn't like the power at the on/off switch. I found another spot and it works great. I wired in a spst switch into the hot lead so I can turn it on and off instead of being obnoxious all the time. HeHe. |
