lowering the 25 watt input would be a start....maybe even the dead key another watt down or so. |

bad coax jumper between box & radio, high SWR, too much modulation, bad coax between amp & antenna, poor/no ground, bad speaker transistors, could be any of a number of causes . |

Confirming that your drive power is set right be sure that your using fresh qaulity coax with PL259's soldered properly. The shield must be soldered well to the PL259. Be sure that your swr is acceptable. Very important to have proper RF grounding. Ground the box to chassis. Make sure antenna is grounded well to vehicle. Try moving the antenna to another location, none of the antenna against the side of the vehicle, feedpoint above the vehicle or as high as possible. If you are using a power mic give a noise canceling non amplified mic a try. All power wires as short as possible and all power wires hooked up directly to the battery. Hope I can help. kenny cef491 |

Ground Every Thing!!!! Engine to frame, chassis to frame, radio to chassis, amp to chassis. The best place to ground a radio and amp is with the bolt on the seat mount. They go right to chassis and in some cases frame. |
