Since the Top One Astroplane took a southern whoopin, from a flying pine tree limb (tossed by mother nature).A friend of mine has a A99 with GPK, new in the box that he said I could have at no cost to me. The landlord feeling partly responsible for not cutting the pines back on a earlier date has agreed to let me put up a fiberglass stick, but doesn't want the tip over 40 feet. So my question to the Tech's or anyone else is ,How would this ant. perform on a 20 foot mast? I figure on a 20 foot mast and the 18 foot A99, that'll keep me under his 40 foot height limit. the A99 will work fine at that height. the top one would work better, but i understand from your other post that having a free antenna would be very cool. i would say, since its free; do it. if you dont like it they are very easy to take down. good luck, matt |

I had a A99 about that height before I put it up higher on my tower and did so good DX with it on the CEF Sunday nets... for nothing of a price if you don't like it as good as your Top One you lost nothing with the A99... give it a try and see what you think... Either way good luck on your return to the air.. Starface CEF476 |

I had a A99 on a 20FT pole and ran it for 7YRS this way and it worked fine. I replaced it with IMAX 2000. HARVE UNIT199 |

The A99 on a 20 foot pole with the GPK installed will work very well. |

Thanks everyone, I figured since it's a freebie, might as well give it a try. Tommy 852 CEF750 Your friend on this end. |

It'll be fine. I had an Imax at 20' and other than in-house interference it made a LOT of contacts! |
