ok here we go. gotta 29 big problems. worked good before cap and resistor mod. Ok now when adjusting dk with cap and resistor had it keyed up and something poped. Loss wattage. Will not swing over 5 watts on channel 1 dead keys about 1.5 watts. On channel 40 keys up .2 watts and will swing to .6. Took out cap and resistor same thing. Switched voltage regulator Final, Driver.
Still nothing. Don't have any smoke to go by or nothing. Help Please.

Sadly I can only recommend that you get a schematic and start looking. Depending on the equipment you have, you could trace it. If you don't have the proper equipment you'd actually be time and money ahead to carry it to someone who does.

If you're like me and like to work on your own stuff then you might want to start removing resistors in that area and checking them. Actually your only way to tell exactly what is wrong is by testing the parts in that section of the PCB. It's really hard to pinpoint it without having the radio in front of you.

You might check the diode coming off of the audio transformer. I've seen that one blow before. I think it's D8 but I can't remember for sure.

Look for a open pc trace close to where you put the parts in.

Don't know if you'll believe this or not got the radio back out the other day and hooked it up keyed it up and whistled wow about 30 watts. Well you know thats what the meter said anyway. this was on channel 1 went to 40 only swung about 15. So i adjusted the 2 pots that are made together near the final. Now it's doing about 25-30 on all 40. hmmmm scratching my head.
