Do a GOOGLE SEARCH at: www.google.com FOR: Wilson CB Verticals on the Ham Bands Then it will be the VERY FIRST ARTICLE at the top of the GOOGLE SEARCH page. This is a very interesting article...you're going to have to search for it. I did this the other and got it to work great on 20 and 17 meters(although my mesurements slightly different than those stated in the article...start a good bit longer and just trim down, every install will be differant) Also, be sure to tune it where you will use it...if you tune it on one mount and try to use it in a different location, IT WILL NOT WORK...i tried...these freqs are low enuf that the differance in ground plane distribution makes a very substanial difference in resonance. BUT...it does work very well...broadbanded too...give it a try, any cb antenna that uses the same tuning process will more than likely work...teh 2 inch tuning whip is the same diameter as the whips for the wilson 1000/5000/500/lil wil series...experiment with what you have on hand, much cheaper than the hamsticks...well...IF you have the unused cb antennas lying around. |
