1)Cut D-71. 2)Solder a wire from PIN 1 of IC UPC-1242H (audio chip) to PIN 2 of the mic socket. 3)IF...the talk back is to loud then install a 100 -500 ohm resistor in series to the mic socket. 4)IF...the receive audio drops then install a .01 uF ceramic disk capacitor in series to the mic socket. hope this helps, matt |

I have also found that soldering a 100 ohm resistor on the board side, one to the Speaker External jack and the other to the PA jack works well without cutting anything. |

missie, im sorry i cant help much, but i found this info on the net by googling "president jackson talkback". have used info from same site with good results. lots of times, the talkback will feedback because the modulation limiter is cut, and a power mic is being used. if this is the case, there is not much you can do but turn the audio down some. if you are using the internal speaker, try using an external speaker, and keep it away from the mic. you might try increasing the value of the resistor to 1K, and placing a .01uF cap between the audio and ground wires on the mic jack. if there is no change, then try STARFACE's method. sorry i cant be of more help, matt |

Kid Vicious thanks I never thought about the mod limiter being cut (just got this one) put it back in it works fine. if your like me and save all the onfo you get ,on this one you don't need the jumper from the autio chip to the mic pin. thanks again! |

cool deal missie, glad you got it working. if you have the old secret CB books, there are quite a few mods for that radio in them. good luck, matt |
