I'm looking for some type of floor mount for my mobile cb in my car. Something that has a plate to bolt into the floor... is about 2 feet high..... possibly adjustable? and has a flat plate on top to sit or mount a mobile cb. Saw one years ago in a rental car that had a cell phone on it when car cells first came out. it was on what they call a GOOSE NECK... If any of you were or are in a band, then you would know what a goose neck is on a mic... Its like Flex pipe |

I know there are some "similar" to what you are describing but the flex part is usually ball and swivel with a way to tighten them. I know what a gooseneck is and while it work's great with a microphone on a stand, I'm not sure how good it would be in a vehicle subject to constant jolts and bouncing. Seems to me it wouldn't stay in the position you want it in for long with any kind of radio attached. (other than a handheld or small, lightweight radio) Google "mobile radio mount" and check out Ram Mounting Systems. It should be the first one on the list if you use google. Plus there are plenty others to check out as well. Hope this helps. |

Bob, Depends on how much you want to expand in the future, as well as how much money you want to spend.. Check out my install in my 2005 Dodge Ram Daytona under 747 in the members pictures section (scroll towards the end) - ran me $150 for the mount but when you see how it turned it, it was worth every penny to me! |

I have been searching high and low for a mounting bracket like Cowboy bob mentioned. A friend of mine and myself have even came up with some ideals to build one but are running into some issues with the design because the stuff is already out there but just needs minor adjustments. If you look at a computer supply website and search for monitor brackets, wall brackets that are fully adjustable to hold up those flat screen monitors and point in all directions You will notice if you look close it is possible to bolt a cb mount bracket in place and the other end bolts up to whatever is solid. It would make a perfect mount for tight or difficult installs. They almost look like robot arms because the swing and swivel and lock in any position. You got to be a little creative |

I have posted a picture of the ideal bracket in my "members pictures" thread. Check it out! |
