I posted this in the mobile forum with out even thinking when I was checking the posts. So I'll post it here as well, where it goes.

I have a friend who has a TRC 457 base and wants to put a talk back in it, but says that the old running a wire and a resister to the speaker trick won't work, as well as crossing the external speaker and PA jack on the bottom of the board. Any ideas on how to get a talk back to work in this radio?
