Magnum S-9 or President Lincoln? I have almost saved up enough cabbage for a B day present for myself! I just wanna get some opinions about a totally stock S-9 versus a totally stock Lincoln. No mods wil be done to either radio. thanks |

Hot, Do you like toys? (echo, etc) If so S9 hands down!!! If not then it is a pretty even fight between he two in my opinion. I still like the S9 a little better tho but that is a personal preference. I already have my S9 now I have my sights set on a Lincoln/2510 and the new S9 175 when that comes around! BC |

Good luck on finding the Lincoln! The Magnum?...well you know the rest of THAT story! S9S9S9S9 SO sorry I ever sold mine! Price was more than Copper sold it for new so I saw no reason not to sell it if I could buy a new one with money left over. Unfortunately...as life would have it..that money got absorbed faster than I could have spent it! No mods? Got ticket? Also sorry I can't add anything as far as info for the Lincoln..never had one BUT is on my wish list next to the President2510 or Emperor From what I've gathered and I'm sure more will chime in...the S9 is a hotrod right out of the box. AM flat out knock your shoes off and is a winner on sideband as well...shut off the echo That Sir is first hand! The Lincoln is a fair/Clear AMer but really shines on sideband. Magnum is also almost $75 more depending where you find either radio...hmmmmm decisions decisions! This is what we call high class problems my friend! Putting myself in YOUR shoes...I'd like to have at a Lincoln. You already have that LOUD Connex and TO ME I'd think the Lincoln would be a nice change from the traditional style. NOW...your mission Mr. WIRE, should you decide to accept it, is to FIND one NEW! If all that fails try to split the difference and get the Omega! Mmmmmm dual mic jacks! One for your 636 and one for the stock power mic! Sorry to confuse the bajeezus out of you...but its fun to spend YOUR money! Makes me feel like Pat HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hank CEF559 |

Thanks guys, Well Lon informed me that all the Lincolns are gone. So I will have to search for one. I did find one at a shop a while back but the price on it was double what Copper wanted! Not gonna get ripped no matter how good a radio it is! The Omega is on my wishlist also but I'm interested in the compressor with the S9. Looks like it gonna be the S9. Now the only concern is if I should use it mobile or base? I have the JCD compression desk mic but using it on a radio that already has compression built in is making me wonder. The 4800 works great with the JCD. So I will just have to wait and see. Mobile or base. Hopefully base but if I put that new S9 in the car its gonna make my days at work real long waiting for my lunch breaks plus I already take to long of breaks having so much fun with the Conny! |

If 1 S9 is good then 2 S9's would be great! You trying to put ideas in my head Steve? You know us cb guys are like that. Just go into members pictures and look at Patzerozero's collection of Uniden Grants, Shermans and 148's! That should tell ya something about the obsessive compulsiveness we develope in this hobby! |

I'm really into vintage stuff and would do anything to find a like new model Realistic Navaho from back in the early 80's just like my dad used to have! Also be nice to find a JB-12 to drive Maverick K-500 like he once had! He only opened the radio 1 time to set the deadkey. Back then he was one of the biggest base setups in town! |
