That is a rare find.I would think the meds would be the same as the rest of AM/FM/SSB HT's. |

Niterider68, Here is the info I have from just calling Sam Lewis (Owner of Magnum International). There were so many problem's with them that they Never went into production and Sam canceled any further involvement with them. He said he took the last 6 or 7 of the pre-production samples to the dayton ham fest and sold them to a dealer for 25 bucks apiece with the WARNING and Understanding that they MAY or MAY NOT WORK and they were sold AS IS with no warranty, support or replacement part's. If you have one it may be one of the 6 or 7 from dayton. MAGNUM SSB-1010 Digital S-Meter Digital RF Power Meter Modulation Meter Frequency Steps: 1 kHz / 10kHz / 100kHz Channels: 40 SWR Meter 28.000 ~ 29.699 Export(25.165 ~ 29.965) RF Gain Mic Gain MODES: AM/FM/USB/LSB AM-7W FM-7W USB-15W LSB-15W SCAN LCR CALL I hope the guy did not charge you more than $25.00 for it. Hope this help's, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9CEF CVC#2 |

Just intrested in why you collect HT's? I have found because of the antenna problems 11 and 10 meter HT's are not very effective. Not that you can't work DX with one you can but like 6 meter ones your antenna is at a major disavantage. I have ht's from 11 meters to 440 mhz and they get used ...... |

I like QRP nothing better than talking 600 1000 miles or more on 10 watts and a 6 inch antenna i never use mobile or fixed base anymore . i started collecting them because they are not as you know made anymore . As for the magnum ssb-1010 i have wanted one for as long as magnum started running adds. I never expected to find one.i just wanted one to replace the one (that died)i originaly posted to you about . i think the magnum was the last one i needed . as for the price too much ,not for one of only six working models .i use a dipole when i need a little help . he was a lucky man to get them for 25.00 each that kind of thing never happens to me how about you .I know that there is some major disavantages to the antenna but what fun.A friend oof mine was talking to a man running 100 watts, he knew i was copying the qso they were about 800 miles away from each other . I jumped in with a qsy and the person answered me and we talked for about 3 mins my freind was not heard from the rest of the night and no longer brags about his contacts to me .i hope you dont find this too long winded bruce have a good day and thanks for the answer . reagrds pat |
