Niterider68, Here is the info I have from just calling Sam Lewis (Owner of Magnum International). There were so many problem's with them that they Never went into production and Sam canceled any further involvement with them. He said he took the last 6 or 7 of the pre-production samples to the dayton ham fest and sold them to a dealer for 25 bucks apiece with the WARNING and Understanding that they MAY or MAY NOT WORK and they were sold AS IS with no warranty, support or replacement part's. If you have one it may be one of the 6 or 7 from dayton. MAGNUM SSB-1010 Digital S-Meter Digital RF Power Meter Modulation Meter Frequency Steps: 1 kHz / 10kHz / 100kHz Channels: 40 SWR Meter 28.000 ~ 29.699 Export(25.165 ~ 29.965) RF Gain Mic Gain MODES: AM/FM/USB/LSB AM-7W FM-7W USB-15W LSB-15W SCAN LCR CALL I hope the guy did not charge you more than $25.00 for it. I wont tell you what i paid for it. i did not pay that much but did pay too much as there was only 7 pre-production models sold they are the same radios . If someone is a true collector they might want one but for everyday guy forget it . But i do have all the other models now so i guess for the collection it is priceless....These 7 magnum ssb-1010 radios are the only ones . thanks to all for the info it helps to know some of the story for the magnum .I wish ol sam would send me the rest of the story .One way to look at is that i have 1 of 7 known to exist regards pat |

Why do i collect these radios family got bigger sold all my other radios . but i can retreat to the back yard and take an hf radio with me .reason #2 what a great big boy toy . |

magnum ssb-1010 lon is there anyway to get more history on this radio from sam lewis ?So far the radio seems to be a better unit than all the others. better transmit receive . i received it in new condition, and in working order .It stands up to the magnum name . works great on ssb and the unit came with the clarifer unlocked .Too bad that magnum did not continue with this project . Sam thank you for dumping these radios at the ham fest , i paid retail price for it but the MAGNUM SSB-1010 is the keystone of my collection regards pat |
