OK, posted this before partially, let's try it the right way this time. I've got a Uniden PC-66. Seems to work perfectly other than the receive audio issue. If you do the resistor "trick" across the PA and EXT SPKR jacks for talkback you have perfect receive audio. Remove it, and no sound. Plug the speaker into the PA jack and flip the radio to PA instead of CB and you have receive audio, from CB. Flip it back to CB and re-insert the speaker into the EXT SPKR jack and no audio again. Ground out the EXT SPKR jack (closest to chassis) and audio flows again. Ground out one of the internal speaker wires...talkback and receive audio. Ground out the other and you have receive audio from both internal and external speakers at the same time. Well, ground out the receive pin on the mic socket...audio for receive again and talkback. I've checked the switch for the CB/PA functions and all is well. I can not figure out what's going on here. The last time I spent any time working on it, after awhile it just started working on it's own. Anybody got a schematic for this radio or have any idea what's going on with it. Now, I've had the same issues with some Cobra radios lately too. Mainly the 25 and 29. Same situation and same results from the "shotgun" methods listed. Any idea what's the blame for these weird cases of loosing received audio? You keep your transmit audio...you can be heard fine. Wonder how you could straight wire it to bypass the CB/PA switch, ya think that would make it work? |
