has a hi-lo power switch(which i'd convert to a variable control) & factory will key probably 3 & 8, & swing 20. best adjustment would be 2 & 8 if you don't convert to variable, & should peak PEP to 35-40. |

Is the 4800 dxl/e PCB based on the cobra 148 board or even remotely look the same with the lid off? |

I believe they are. I could be wrong but I have heard they are identical to the 148 gtl DX+. Just put my 4800 in the mobile for fun. Checked it, 2 watt deadkey lo 9 watt deadkey hi 38 watt swing! Checked the finals and they are rated at 30 watts each, wonder if its possible to get much more than 38 watts? Clean watts that is. |

the rci6900/rci6900ftb-150/connex4800dxl/connex 4800dxe/cobra 148gtlfdx/general grant are all the same radio. they use the galaxy ept6900XXXX boards. they are in no way related to the uniden 8719-chassis radios. 99% of radios today look extremely similar when you remove the covers. look at the parts that are or are not there, as well as quality and/or values of parts used to determine what is acceptable to you. |
