geeze i cant believe this. started out with a firestik i couldnt get to match properly. replaced it along with the coax, got the antenna centered (low match in middle of band, raising on the ends. added a spring so I wouldnt beat it to death on the low branches on the street to my house or the low hanging powerlines across my driveway. trimmed the whip to compensate. re tuned looks like all is well. without even leaving my driveway my RX goes to CRAP re chech the match and its the same as when i was having trouble with the firestik (high match on the low end about 1.5:1 on the high end) without moving an inch or changing anything )(*^W#^%*_(_ |

Time to re-check the connectors (maybe re-do them). Especially check the coax connection to the antenna mount. Might be some oxidation between conductors. |

Yep, sounds like something not making proper contact in your system. |
