I have an old GrantXL, I have recently ordered the Voyage VR9000 and am putting the Grant in my pick up. I have done the NPC-RC on the Grant and is doing pretty good but have kicked around the idea of playing with it a little. I was wanting to change the 1969 final to a 2315, I believe I will have to change the 2 am regulators also. 1 is a 2sc945aq, the other is 2sc1419c, what would they need to be changed to so I could run the bigger final? And would I have to change IC6 the audio amp? If so what would it need to be changed to it is a TA7222P. Thanks for the input. |

A bigger final is not worth all the headache for a little 2 watts more. I would leave it alone if it sounds good. Buy a 40 watt amp for 30 bucks... 307 |

Thanks 307,, if 2 watts is all I will gain then I guess it isn`t worth it. |

What about the VR9000 ? Would 2312`s make much of a difference on it? I think the General Lee has dual 2312`s and am not sure about the AM setup on the Voyage if they would make much of a difference. I think the SSB would gain. |

it would not make a diffrence on your signal,i think they have 2-2sc1969 and 1-2166 a 2312 is only a couple more watts than a 1969 and the 2312 has a lower db ratio than a 1969,the 1969 is the most common in that type of transister. |
