Whats the average output of a magnum s9 from copper with their tune up? Also do these radios cover the 11 meter CB band? I'm considering one for the dumptruck. |

Consider it no longer...go ahead and buy it. I've got one in my dumpwagon and I love it love it. Can't tell you what a Copper tune will give it, but I can say yes it'll do 11 meters. I know what it'll do right out of the box and I don't think there is anything to 'tune' in or on it. They might check it out, but I don't know. Maybe Lon will chime in on this one. But either way you'll be happy with it. You might wanna look for his review on it. They are usually very in depth and complete. |

If I'm not really into SSB in the mobile, would I be just as well off with a S3? |

Yeah I'd say go with the S6 but only because I like the big meter and freq counter. But if those things along with SSB aren't a big deal or need to you, then yeah go with a S3. They are all basically the same radio with the same output. I started off with a Wilson 1000 mag mount, then moved to a Wilson 5000 mag mount. I went the mag mount route cause my truck has fiberglass doors. I then switched over to a 5000 trucker with the 5" shaft(I think that's right). I now run the Predator 10K on a triple mag mount setup. I had the single coil version, then went with the double coil due to height issues. With any of the 3 radios, you'll be more than happy. Look at like this too, if you decide to sell it, you stand a better chance of getting more of your money back out of a S3,S6 or S9 over just about any other radio you could buy. Especially over a Connex or Galaxy. I say this because everybody and their brother has a Galaxy and they are easy to find and can be picked up cheap. The Magnum's on the other hand aren't out there in every truck on the road, so I feel like you could get more of your money back and get it back quicker. Just my opinion though...not the facts. |

thanks porkchop, I might look into getting the S6, I like the big meter also. And I was mistaken I run a wilson 2000 on a 5in. shaft mirror mount on a 2000 T-800 KW. I thinking of a galaxy 33, but I'm starting to lean towards the magnum s6. |

Well the 33 is a good radio, but I would personally rather have the S6 or S9, S9 for myself. Good deal with a KW. Metal doors...no fiberglass...fiberglass evil, no likey antennas. You should have NO problems getting out or receiving just about everything out there with metal doors and a S6. If you go the box route, just make sure you ground everything, not just the power line ground either. And for God sake, don't skimp and buy cheap coax. You'll be happier in the long run to pony up some cash on some good coax. |

Shame, shame.... I had a guy tell me the other day he'd rather have a bad case of herpes than have a Galaxy. He said atleast he could give the herpes away...haha. That wasn't funny...I like Galaxy. So I punched him in the belly and gave him a slap... |
