Sorry not CB question, but thought somebody could help as it is (I hope) going up with a 11 beam. I was given one new in box from a friend. The directions don't show the connection of the coax well, and I have never had a beam. The way that it seems to hook up makes no sense to me. There is a metal U (hairpin?) that as best I can tell the coax connects to, on either end, but thats a dead short. That is the only way I can fiquire it hooks up, but makes no sense to me. I just looked here is a link to the manual in pdf http://www.mfjenterprises.com/man/pdf/MFJ-1762.pdf it does not show where wires go, but looks like they go to ends of U, but still seems like it would be a dead short. I would love to put this up with my 11 meter beam when I decide on the one I'm getting. What would the seperation distance between them be (both horz.) Tnx for the help. |

you hook the coax accross the hairpin and remember to coil a few turns of coax right at the connection. a beam like this should give you about 6 db of gain |

You can call the beam factory Tech Support at 800-647-8324 and ask about the feedline connections. It stays pretty busy so if you can not get through, let me know and I will run by the Hy Gain Plant here and ask them for you. Do not know about the distance between beams, but there are some guys on the forum here that do and I am sure will help you with that..Good Luck 73 |
