I have a tube amp that says 321 on the front and I need a choke for it. I think this amp is the same as the palomar skipper 300 any way...........The choke that sits in the middle of the 3 drive tubes is all burnt up. I think it is due to the fact that it sits in the middle of 3 hot tubes. The internal fan works. I need to know what the specifications are for this choke and where to get a new one. Oh and what frequency does amp this work on?

You can unwind the burnt wire and rewind it with wire from radio shack. A coat of clear nail polish
will hold the turns in place.
The reason it burnt up could be from a shorted tube and not just the heat from the tubes.
The 321 are like a Skipper but have better harmonic suppresion because of a pi-l tank circuit instead of a standard pi tank circuit.
The amp will work on 10/11 meters.
If you don't want to rewind the choke you can use any value around 22uH at around 700 mA.
I would install a fuse in line with the choke when testing the first time. If you have a bad tube the fuse will blow instead of cooking your new choke.

Hope this helps

What diameter wire to use from radio shack? Does it have to be enamal coded. How do I check for shorts in my tubes? I have an ohm meter. Do I check the pins? What amp fuse should I use 2amp, 10 amp, 20amp??? Just A few more questions. Thank you for all your help.
