Does anyone know the value of R19? Mine is smoked and I need to replace it. Everything else appears to be fine, but the R19 resistor. It is so badly damaged I cannot tell what the color code is. |

No, it is a resistor near the back of the amp, right next to the keying relay. My board is well labeled . The keying relay is the clear plastic box at the back of the amp. Looking at the amp from the back, the resistor R19 is just to the right of that box. |

I think this resistor is part of the keying circut. When the amp is first turned on it "keys" briefly by itself. But it will not key when the radio is keyed. I double checked and it is R19 that I need to replace, I just need the part value, or the color code on the resistor. Thanks!! |

if it still works. measure the resistor 1st. then carefully cut or unsolder one leg & take a meter to it. if it is for the relay: a lot of amps use the same on the 2 relays. should be around 33k. you only have to get close. just a guess with out a schematic. also how big is it "watts"? |

Thanks George, but I really do not want to "trial and error" this thing. I posted this same question on another site and two people said that the R19 is RED BROWN BROWN GOLD. I took this info to my local electronics shop, and he gave me a 120 ohm 1 watt resistor. But it looks much larger than the damaged resistor in the amp. |

Lon, Thanks so much! I am going to guess that it is a 1/4 watt. But having the right value is the most important thing. Thanks again! |

Tech808, I installed the resistor and the amp is working flawlessly! Thanks again and keep up the good work. Vern "Bigfoot"......... 73s |
