Does anyone know anything about this radio? I understand it's made by Ranger :}. It looks the same as a Connex 4800. Stock from the factory, would the coarse clarifier change transmit and receive and the fine only change receive? |

Selectable Talk Back, Roger Beep and Mic/RF Gain 6-Digit Frequency Counter 6 Position Band Switch With +10KHz Offset *RCI-6900F25 Circuitry and Specs Conventional (Thru Board) Components!! Includes microphone, mounting bracket, mount knobs, & power cord. Approximate Dimensions: Height - 2 3/8" Width 7 7/8" Length - 9 1/4" Add approx 1" for knobs on front & 1/2" antenna connection on back. The easy-to-use frequency selection system covers the 10- meter amateur band in 6-band segments. Actual operating frequency is accurately displayed in the 6-digit LED display that’s easy to read even in bright sunlight. A channel indicator speeds return to a popular or previously used frequency without interfering with the operator's attention to the road. Selectable Automatic Noise Limiter (ANL) and Noise Blanker assures noise reduction during mobile operation. Front panel RF power output control and RF Gain controls enable the operator to set transmitter power and receiver sensitivity to match operating conditions. Additional front panel controls assure optimum performance under widely varying conditions: A +10 kHz switch complements the frequency selection system by shifting the Tx and Rx frequencies up by a known amount for increased driving safety. Separate coarse and fine tuning controls for tuning above and below the selected frequency for ease of operations. Easy-to-read panel meter - three-functions indicating received signal strength, transmitter power output, and antenna SWR. NOTE! The 6 push buttons on the SS158EDX are located to the RIGHT of the 6-Digit Frequency Counter unlike the 4800DXL which has them located to the LEFT of the 6-Digit Frequency Counter. Thanks Lon. Sounds like it's the same radio as the Connex, with the exception of where some buttons are.... After the nice description of the radio I was waiting for a link to where you can buy it at Copper! I guess not though. Thanks again, Bert |
