In my opinion RANGER missed the boat and should have offered a radio that would go 21 - 29.7 stock out of the box If they keep the price under 300 bucks the other makers would have to have listened .......

Why was my post explaining that the area around 21mhz is occupied by licensed radio services removed/deleted ? Apparently by a moderator ??? Moderator Note! All post's and comment's that had nothing to do with the Topic or Question that was asked by the Original Poster were removed. If you or any other Copper Forum Member wish's to discuss the legalities of of anything please start a new topic in the Area titled: CB and Ham Legal Discussion Area CB versus Ham, FCC Rules, Legal Issues Sorry but this is the Ask The Tech » Modifications Area. And the question that was asked is: Is it true you can get 21mhz from the 2995dx?if so How do you get 21mhz from the rci2995dx? |

some can some cant. depends on which version you have. i dont remember how to tell which one you have, but if you do a google search for "defpom" you will be led to a site that has mods for the 2950DX which is the same on the inside as your radio. there you will see how to get down as low as 18mhz. there is an expansion module that must be bought to do this, and i cant remember where to get one. later, matt |

There is probably some sort of PLL mod or something you can do. Maybe one of the various groups/sites on the net has the info. I'd like to find it myself and do it to mine as long as it doesn't take away from what it covers now. |
