I have a cobra 29 that did have a expo kit in it. I removed the expo kit because the radio didn't work with it. So with it removed the radio still doesn't transmit. The weird thing is, that the talk back is loud. I made sure it wasn't switched to pa. The final has 12vs to it but nothing is coming out. 12volts I found on the center pin by the way. The final neither gets hot nor transmit no matter what I do to the pots. This radio was always dead as far as transmitting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance. Ironman

You say you removed the expo kit, did you reinstall the crystal necessary for the CB Band?

Since the radio did not work before/after the expo kit I would say something else is wrong with it... Does the radio receive at all?? Talkback simply means your AUDIO side is working on transmit.. it gives no true indication of power and or transmit

Bandits right you have to put back the original crystal. When you use an expo kit you are taking out the original crystal and replacing it with the ones on the kit.Take out the expo kit and it has no crystal to generate the frequencys.Did you replace the driver and final?
