im going to order ehtier a 949 or 959 galaxy from copper im wondering about the tuning and peaking proceder will this make the cb trnsmit and recive better or is it just to make sure the cb will perform as it should anyways |

Personally I'd buy a better radio than the 949 or 959, but if you decide to go with either a standard alignment with modulation set to around 100% will do the trick for the transmit side... the alignment will make the radio talk as it should which is probably better than it will come from the factory. The receive side could be tweaked and aligned using a good signal generator and the proper tools which will increase your receive level. |

Way to go Pat, the General will get the job done. Even without a lot of messing around with, good radio to begin with. |

Hawkeye, Buy 959 from Copper and have them do the alighnment for you. AM works great on these radios. SSB is lacking in performance to a seasoned SSBer,BUT will do for a newbie! Although you can get a better radio they are perfect for a beginner and AM operator. Later on you can very easily mod the radio for extra channels so thats why you want the freq display of the 959.
