Hi. Is there a mod that can be done to "clean up" the receive in my 148, or just to simply make it better? I seem to be transmitting better than receiving. Any thoughts? Thanks PS---148 5 pin side mount |

replace TR14 with a 2SC2999 or an NTE107. replace TR19 with the transistor you just removed from the TR14 spot (2SC1674). replace D1,D2,D21,D22 with 1N6263's or NTE583's. you will really like the results. do a receiver tune up on L4, 5 and 6 afterwards for max S-meter reading. (dont try to tune to an S-9 signal. a clear channel is best.) also, a complete receiver alignment is a good idea. here's a link to a great tutuorial on tuning up your 8719 chassis. all the parts numbers are for your 148. http://www.copperelectronics.com/cgi-bin/discus4/show.cgi?tpc=34&post=113535#POST113535 feel free to ask me anything. i wrote the article so i should be able to answer your questions about it. good luck, matt |

no copper does not sell those parts. there is a guy on internet auction site's selling the transistors for a good price. the diodes you should be able to get from mouser electronics. they have no minimum order. you might be able to get everything there. i dont know. a good idea is to do a google search on the part numbers, and see if any big stores pop up. good luck, matt |
