I recently installed a TUG8 on my President Madison (5-pin 8719 chassis). I used wiring info I found here, and I've confirmed thru another source that it is indeed the correct wiring. Transmit works fine, but I have a problem with a receive squeal. It only appears after a few minutes. If I key the mic it goes away, but reappears after a couple of minutes. It will also go away if I open the squelch or if someone breaks the squelch. But after a couple of minutes it returns. I've even tried leaving the squelch open, but it still comes back if I have the volume control turned all the way down. The only way I can keep it away is to leave the squelch off and the volume turned down, but not all the way. Any ideas, folks? |

Yaesujohn, Double check to make sure it is wired as follow's: PIN #1 ~ WHITE PIN #2 ~ SHIELD PIN #3 ~ RED PIN #4 ~ N/C / OPEN PIN #5 ~ N/C / OPEN BLACK N/C Electronic Switching Also Double check to make sure there are no stray wires touching any of the other wires inside the base of the mic and in your 5 pin radio connector. Hope this help's, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9CEF CVC#2 |
